Dan Davies

Director

After trying other musical instruments, Dan took up the guitar in 1982. He was 9 years old at the time, and little did he know that music and the guitar would become a lifelong passion for him from that point onward.

When Dan moved up to high school, he took lessons with John Thackeray, who broadened his musical horizons and introduced him to the electric guitar. The musical environment of Dan's school began to sharpen his skills, and at the age of 12, he started performing at school concerts and various other school events.

Fast forward to the 90s, and after being taught by several guitar tutors, including Brian Kellner, Phil Hilborne, and Big Jim Sullivan, Dan began teaching his own students in 1998. With years of experience in gigging, studio work, and depping, he had developed a solid knowledge base to share with others.

Dan has continued to perform live, both with his own band and as a substitute for many other groups on guitar and bass. He also possesses singing and songwriting skills and released an album during a lockdown period, providing him with a focused creative outlet. "So I guess that’s over 40 years playing and gigging!"
